Black Birds Note (Closed)

You are just getting done replacing a power coupling for a suburb of Chongqui, a real dive of a town called Wokkorn Translation: Black Bird) where the old Chinese families without influence and power went to die.  The official the hired you was probably corrupt, he insisted you work at night and payed you in small gold pellets that you are half concerned may be gold teeth.  The place has a sweet rotting meat smell, and it has taken three days to get the plant working again after a lightning storm had demolished most of the wiring and melted several power couplings together, which caused the inside of the plant to smell like burnt sweet rotten meat, not an actual improvement.  The lighting in the place was bad to begin with, but you put up some temporary lanterns to improve viability.  

You get done with the coupling and pack your tools, and you make your way out of the building and to collect the other half of your payment, you see something sparkle from the back of a pipe with grating over it.  The pipe is about a foot and a half in diameter and the sparkle is coming from a few feet back, its hard to tell.  What do you do?

Take a look around to see if anyone is there watching me, quietly pull off the grating and put it on the ground, roll up my sleeve and reach in.

[Admin]

You feel something wet, sticky and uneven to the touch, like a tree branch covered in syryp.

[Brendon]

I'm going to try to grab it and pull it out, hoping with all hope that this isn't a waste drainage pipe.

[Admin]

A clean severed arm pops out, severed at the elbow. In the hand is clutched a blood stained note, around the wrist is a string of beads that reminds you of something from your past.

[Brendon]

I try to get the note out without ripping it, is it legible?

[Admin]

It is, there is a short message scrawled in black ink, it reads
"The Caravan did not leave without you, they were taken. If you wish to save them, head to a town called Threeway, look for a group. They will lead you to your people.
*Then there is a small drawing of a black bird in flight where a signature would normally go.*

[Admin]

The arm that was holding the note dissolves into blood, gore and bits of bone in a loud sploosh. As the beads come free from the bits, you realize they are quite similar to a strong of beads the elder of your caravan was fond of wearing.

[Brendon]

I pocket the note and the beads and take off, the bloody mess is not part of my job, never told the official I was a janitor... besides I gotta get to Threeway.
